The Ministry of Comfort

Isaiah 51:12a

“I, I am he who comforts you.”

Introduction:

Are you at a place in your life right now that you need the mighty comfort of God.

Then, this message is for you.

Have you been through a difficult time and God has seen you through, or are you on the other side?

Then this message is for you.

Join me today, as we learn today about the ministry of comfort.

  1. The Ministry of Comfort starts with God himself and his very nature.

Isaiah 51:12a

“I, I am he who comforts you.”

  1. The Ministry of Comfort flows from God to the believer.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

  1. The Ministry of Comfort is purposeful, with no hurts being wasted.

2 Corinthians 1:5-6

For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.[a] If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer.

  1. The Ministry of Comfort is always shared as the culture of the body of Christ.

2 Corinthians 2:7

Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.
