Spirit, Soul and Body:
The Implications, Part 2
The message this morning is the third message in the series, “Spirit, Soul and Body.” Last week’s message taught about the implications of Spirit, Soul and Body. I gave you three such implications, let me review them with you briefly.
Because I am a spirit, with a soul, housed in a body, God will communicate to me; God will give me help from within; God will give me revelation of His truth and God will give me insight into the reason people need to be born again.
Let us read together the text that we have been considering. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us begin today with the fifth teaching truth.
- Because I am a spirit, with a soul, housed in a body, God will help me identify the voice that is in charge.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
- Because I am a spirit, with a soul, housed in a body, God will aid me in escaping my flesh from being dominate.
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
- Because I am a spirit, with a soul, housed in a body, God will teach me the importance of being Spirit controlled.
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.
- Because I am a spirit, with a soul, housed in a body, God will enable me to reprogram my soul.
12 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
